Surface Water Quality Guidelines For Use In Alberta
(November 1999)
This document replaces the Alberta Surface Water Quality Guidelines:
A Working Compendium, July 1998. Surface Water Quality Guidelines
For Use In Alberta (November 1999) was prepared by the Environmental
Science Division in collaboration with the Water Management Division
and represents an up-to-date and comprehensive compilation of guideline
values for use in our regulatory and management work. The document
provides water quality guidelines for the protection of freshwater
aquatic life, agricultural use and for recreation and aesthetics.
As well, the document takes into consideration the Canadian Council
of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) 1999 Canadian Environmental
Quality Guidelines and the United State Environmental Protection
Agency (USEPA) 1999 National Recommended Water Quality Criteria.
